The entire campaign consists of 20 stages. Cost of the entire construction project is ($1.875 million)

Background

Masjid AlSalam is located at 160 Salvation road. This area is adjacent to a public transit centre, the Mount Pleasant Go Station. This is an active Muslim community. Every Friday, about 1500 worshippers attend the three Friday sermons. The masjid also has many Islamic programs. 

The current masjid has 2 floors. The combined area is 5,000 square feet.

Alhamdulillah since we started the masjid we have been able to establish multiple programs including:

  1. The five daily prayers
  2. Three Friday sermons every week (Jummah Khutbah). About 1500 people attend the three sermons.
  3. Taraweeh Prayers
  4. Eid Prayers
  5. Youth Lessons, Gatherings
  6. Family meetups on Friday evenings
  7. Part-time Quran classes (100 students)
  8. Weekend Islamic school (100 students)
  9. Full-time Quran (every year at least three students complete their memorization of the Quran)
  10. Annual Islamic Knowlege Competition and issuing Ijazah certificates to those who have memorized the Quran (Huffaz)
  11. Annual Quran competition (around 500 students travel from different parts of the Greater Toronto Area to participate)
  12. Dawah – Inviting non-Muslims to Islam
  13. Iftar and Eid festival
  14. Building bridges with other community groups
  15. Youth Soccer
